Roko Mijić and Nika Cetina recorded strong results at the 42nd Croatia Open in Zagreb, while Dajana Jelinčić made a valuable first club appearance in the lightweight women’s category.

Roko Mijić: a strong race in the largest event of the regatta
Special attention goes to Roko Mijić, who raced in the junior men’s single sculls on Saturday. With 69 entries, it was the biggest event of the regatta. Roko showed impressive endurance by racing three demanding heats, the qualification, semifinal and final, on the same day. In the end, he finished an excellent 11th place, confirming his place in the Croatian selection crew.
On the second day of competition, Roko and Makso Božićević (VK Zagreb) reached the elite A final in the double sculls and claimed a strong 4th place. This result is even more valuable because both rowers are in their first year of junior A, which means they competed on equal terms with older crews.
Nika Cetina: a great start to the season on the water
Great news also came from Nika Cetina, for whom this was the first appearance on the water this season. Like Roko, she is in her first year of junior women A and delivered very competitive times. In a field of 38 single scullers, she took 15th place overall, while on the second day she and Dora Radović (VK Jadran Rijeka) reached 4th place in the B final, meaning 10th place overall. More results are expected from Nika as the season goes on.
Valuable experience for Dajana Jelinčić
Alongside the representative duo, Dajana Jelinčić made her debut for the club at the regatta. She competed in the lightweight women’s category, marking her first appearance at such a big and demanding competition. Although this time she did not record a standout result, racing against experienced rowers gave her valuable experience that will be important for the upcoming regattas this season.

The strong placements of Mijić and Cetina, together with Jelinčić’s brave performance, are a clear sign of the club’s good work.
